Browsing new arrivals at the Tucker by Gaby Basora online boutique, there are three absolutely delicious items we thought perfect for any summer wardrobe. First, there is the very pretty Florinda Riviera Chan Blouse that features a floral print on midnight blue silk, minimal collar, and button front. The Floorlength Girl Named Ariel Dress is a clean and crisp geometric print on black silk with three-quarter length sleeves, button front, and waist tie. Our favorite is the Lola’s Sassy Pink Print Floorlength Dress constructed with a jacquard-like silk polka dot fabric, button front, and three-quarter length sleeves. What is your favorite? All thoughts and comments are welcome.

The Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last night, and the annual red carpet event is synonymous with star power, true beauty, and glamour. Anna Wintour was appropriately in attendance, and Lady Gaga performed a four song set wearing a Giorgio Armani catsuit.
The Satin Plum looked through WWD photos from last night’s event in an effort to select our top five best dressed. Never an easy task, we narrowed our list down to ten but then thought it best we ask our readers for their opinion. Please select your personal favorite for best dressed in the side column to your right. In addition, all thoughts and comments are welcome.
Finally, the Costume Institute Gala honored the May 5 opening of the American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity, an exhibition that provides insight as to how the term “modern woman” has historically evolved into the twenty-second century. From the MET website, “Focusing on archetypes of American femininity through dress, the exhibition will reveal how the American woman initiated style revolutions that mirrored her social, political, and sexual emancipation. ‘Gibson Girls,’ ‘Bohemians,’ and ‘Screen Sirens,’ among others, helped lay the foundation for today’s American woman.” This very interesting exhibition is on display at the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Exhibition Hall until August 15.
